Your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy details how SmartNotify handles your data, the permissions required by the application, and our commitment to protecting your personal information.

            Zero Personal Data Collection Policy: SmartNotify is designed as an offline-first application. All notification processing, rule evaluation, and alert logging happen entirely on your local device. We do not operate external databases or servers to collect, store, or transmit your personal data.
        

1. Information Processing & Usage

SmartNotify operates directly on your device to automate alerts based on incoming notifications. Below is how information is processed:

Notification Interception: The app processes incoming notification headers, titles, text contents, and package names locally to match them against your user-defined automation rules.
Local SQLite Database: Intercepted notifications, custom automation rules, and alert histories are stored securely in a local SQLite database within the app's sandboxed private storage. This data is never uploaded or shared.
User-Configured Webhooks: If you explicitly enable and configure a Webhook Action for a rule, the matched notification details will be sent directly to the URL endpoint you specify (e.g., Slack, MS Teams, custom server). These requests are dispatched directly from your device to your target URL; we do not proxy, inspect, or store these transmissions.

2. Android Permissions Used and Rationale

To perform its core utility, SmartNotify requests access to the following sensitive Android permissions:

Notification Listener Service (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE): Required to detect and read incoming notifications in real-time across the system so they can be matched against your custom rules.
System Alert Window / Draw Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to overlay full-screen alarms and interrupt overlays when a critical priority alert is detected, even when the screen is locked or idle.
Request Ignore Battery Optimizations (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS): Essential to prevent the operating system from terminating the background listener service when the phone is idle, ensuring critical alerts are never missed.

3. Third-Party Services

SmartNotify does not include any third-party analytics, telemetry, tracking SDKs, or advertising networks. The application runs entirely telemetry-free.

4. Data Security

Since all data remains sandboxed within your local device storage, the security of your data relies on your device's operating system security. No data is stored in the cloud.
